Translators without Borders recently announced development of a new fully automated Translation Center, powered by ProZ.com, which has boosted the organization’s ability to provide pro bono translations to hundreds of non-profits by automatically linking volunteers to key projects that need translation. The financial support provided by sponsors is critical to sustaining and growing the organization, particularly in under-resourced languages. "In the course of our work, we've become aware of a huge global need, which is for people in poor countries to be able to access global knowledge in their own language," explains Lori Thicke, co-founder of Translators without Borders. Don Shin, CEO and founder of 1-Stop Translation affirms the company’s commitment, “For quite some time, Asian countries were at the receiving end of humanitarian support. Now, we are proud to be able to give back and help those in need. Translators without Borders is doing marvelous works.” Lori Thicke adds: “We are incredibly grateful to 1-Stop Translation for this assistance, which is critical to enable us, in turn, to support more humanitarian work around the globe.”
About Translators without Borders Translators without Borders is a US-based 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. The mission of Translators without Borders (initially founded in France in 1993 as Traducteurs sans frontières) is to translate knowledge for humanity. May 18-21, 2011  1-Stop Translation has recently returned from the 2011 ALC conference in Las Vegas, NV. We took this wonderful opportunity to treat both our customers and our entire US staff to a special dinner at Marinelli's Italian restaurant. The event was a success; the food was delicious, the weather was warm and the atmosphere was lively and vibrant. Our staff finally had a chance to meet face-to-face with our customers. It was surely an event to remember.

We are pleased to announce that 1-Stop Translation has recently been awarded schedule contract number GS-10F-0145X for SIN 382-1/1RC (Translation Service) and SIN 382-2/2RC (Interpretation Service) effective March 16, 2011 by GSA (General Services Administration) and is now certified to provide services to the Federal government. With this new GSA Schedule, 1-Stop Translation will have access to direct purchases made by the government buyers to GSA schedule holders. In Fiscal Year of 2009 alone over $126 million purchases was made specifically for Schedule 738 II (Language Services). March 28-30, 2011 1-Stop Translation has recently returned from attending GALA 2011 in Lisbon, Portugal where our CEO & founder, Don Shin took part in the eagerly anticipated panel discussion, "Vendor Collaboration: Competitive Threat or Competitive Advantage?" The panel discussion was held on Monday, March 28 from 11:00am - 12:30pm. This discussion was moderated by Andrew Lawless (Dig-IT! Consulting) and Don was joined by other exclusive panel members which includes Smith Yewell (WeLocalize), Wouter Leeuwis (Waters Corp.) and Loy Searle (Google Inc.). Each panelist were given time to express their own point of view and prior experience on the pros and cons of vendor collaboration prior to the start of the discussion.

Don Shin, our CEO & founder and Rescy de Guzman, our Sr. Manager have recently returned from the 52nd Annual ATA Conference in Boston, MA. As an exhibitor, 1-Stop Translation was presented with yet another essential venue and opportunity to be able to meet with our clients and our translators in person. Although in our industry, we are accustomed to communicating through emails and phone calls, we firmly believe that nothing can beat the dynamic of a face-to-face meeting.
