Case Study for Japanese:The Challenge
Our client was one of the leading larger providers of localization services of the industry. We were asked to handle multiple Japanese localization projects involving medical device manuals from one of their clients, a large medical technology company. Due to the complexity of the medical terms, linguists with sufficient medical background and experience were needed for the projects. But there were more challenges to it. Because it was an on-going project with a very tight schedule of deadlines and required very close communication with our client's in-house Japanese linguists, our clients requested to be able to communicate and have meetings with our translators directly on weekly basis. In the translation industry this is not common practice. Our industry mainly relies on freelance translators, making it hard for this request to be acceptable for any translation agency, except for us.
The Solution
It was no problem for 1-Stop Translation.
With our native Japanese in-house capability combined with our extensive list of pre-qualified Japanese linguists, each with their own area of expertise and long time relationship with us, we could let our in-house Japanese language leader to be the main hub between client and our freelance translators. Our clients could call at anytime to talk directly to the person who edited all the files delivered to them to discuss technical and linguistic issues. All meetings were conducted in Japanese and our project manager and client's side project manager could be completely independent and could interact in their native language as the project required knowledge on Japanese technical terms and delicate nuances of Japanese writing style.
